App support

Getting started#

Installing Hubbub, then the quick approvals its setup asks your Mac for — what each one is for, with pictures.

• Install Hubbub on your Mac The step-by-step install, including the one step people skip — and how to tell if your copy has stopped updating.
• Mac setup: what Hubbub asks for The three quick approvals setup asks your Mac for, why, and what happens if you close setup part-way.
• Seeing your open apps One Allow button (macOS calls it System Automation). Which apps are open — not what is in them.
• Reading your browser's address One switch in System Settings (under Accessibility). The page address — never what you type.
• Connecting your browsers One Allow per browser, so Hubbub can close a single distracting tab instead of your whole browser.

Features#

• Being a focus partner For the parent or friend who has been asked: what you agree to, what lands in your inbox, and what you approve.
• Smart Screen Analysis The optional feature that tells a tutorial from a time sink — how to turn it on, and exactly where the data stops.
• Background updates On a child's Mac without an administrator account: one approval from a parent, and Hubbub installs its own updates.
